Mendoza family hosts fundraiser for Eliot School

Another successful fundraiser to benefit the Eliot School, organized by the Mendoza family, took place at their restaurant Vinoteca di Monica on Richmond Street.

Last year, the Mendoza family hosted event raised $17,000 for the Charter Street School to purchase supplies and equipment. This year $20,000 was raised for a two-year total of $37,000.

"Our family, owns and operates three businesses in the North End and wanted to give back something to the neighborhood," Jorge Mendoza said. "Since we live here and our children attend the school, running a benefit to help out the popular school was a natural thing to do," he added.

"The Eliot School is probably one of, if not the best public school in the city. Our children love the school, its principal and her very capable staff," Mendoza said. "Education is extremely important for our children. At the Eliot School our children are receiving the best education possible," he added.

The Mendoza family owns and operates two other businesses in the North End, Trattoria Monica, 67 Prince Street and Monica’s Mercato, 130 Salem Street.
