Indians Number One
With the Tigers on their tail and the Red Sox close behind, the Indians with coach Al Vilar at the helm, captured the 2010 NEAA/Nazzaro Center Majors Baseball Championship.

Sox 10-Indians 7
The ongoing battle between the Red Sox and Indians for first place went to the Red Sox this time around as they beat the Tribe 10-7 in an offensive game.
Sox pitcher Timmy Martin got out of a 6th inning bases loaded jam securing the win. Aaron Cronin, Rich Perez and Mike Perez led the Sox hit parade.
Guarino Vilar and T.J. Shea carried the big bats for the Tribe.
It was a back and forth game until the Red Sox took a 10-5 lead late in the game.
The Indians chipped away but it was too little too late.
Sox shortstop Ryan Santoro made two solid defensive plays that contributed to the win.
Tigers 3-Red Sox 2
The Tigers continued their late season charge to capture first place with a convincing 3-2 win over the Red Sox. The win gave the Tigers a series sweep over the defending champs.
The Tigers took a 1-0 first inning lead when Robert Pagliuca reached third and scored on an RBI grounder by Eli Swab.
It became a 2-0 Tiger lead in the 3rd when Swab tripled and scored on an Anthony Freni ground out.
A two-run 4th inning tied the game at 2-2. Tim Martin walked, stole second and scored on a double by Aaron Cronin. Cronin stole third and scored the Red Sox second run on an RBI groundout by Richard Perez.
Both teams failed to score in the 5th due to good pitching by Cronin and Pagliuca.
A sixth inning triple by Zack Knopf and a line-drive single by Joseph O’Brien gave the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
Freni closed the door on the Red Sox in the bottom of the sixth with a groundout and two strikeouts.
Tigers 11-Cardinals 2
The Red hot Tigers captured their third win in a row beating the Cardinals 11-2.
Robert Pagliuca collected 2 hits, scored 2 runs and hurled two strong innings on the mound for the Tigers.
Eli Swab continued his late season hitting tear and Anthony Freni continued to rip the baseball and was unhittable on the mound.
The Cardinals were led by Thomas Marchi and JC Pezzuto who both had a hit and scored a run.
