North End student awarded Elaine Wilson Scholarship

NEW Health Elaine Wilson 2026 scholarship was recently presented to lifelong North End resident Paige Fitzgerald, a student at Northeastern University.

The Community Health Outreach and Public Service Scholarship reflects the values of service, community and commitment toward improving access to high-quality care that has long been central to NEW Health’s mission.

Paige Fitzgerald (center) receives her scholarship from NEW Health members.

Paige is studying Behavioral Neuroscience and hopes to contribute to her community by combining her understanding and passion for supporting communities impacted by social determinants of health, limited access and limited opportunities outside of the classroom.

Paige is a certified Emergency Medical Technician at her school and has volunteered with organizations supporting the North End community throughout her life.

NEW Health said, “We are honored to support Paige as she continues her health care journey and look forward to seeing the impact she will make in the community she serves.”

I’m proud to have grown up in the North End. It’s a tremendously supportive community, and this scholarship is another reminder of how lucky I am to call it home. I’m incredibly grateful to NEW Health for supporting me in my studies at Northeastern University,”

“I’ve always been interested in helping others, and I’m excited to explore that passion through medicine. Knowing that my own community believes in me and wants to be part of my journey makes the scholarship especially meaningful,” Paige added.

Elaine Wilson is considered the Founder of the North End Community Health Center which resulted in one of the best, if not the best center in the state.
