A new large scaled mural Midnight Ride has been installed in Dewey Square alongside of the many murals placed in the area in the past.

In recognition of the special event the Greenway Conservancy held a free community celebration for the placement of the mural by Boston Born artist Rixy.

A sizable group joined the Conservancy celebration that featured music, food trucks, art activities and live performances.

In honor of the nation’s 250th Independence Day, the vibrant artwork will stand in the heart of downtown Boston during the city’s most historical summer.

Produced in partnership with Embrace Boston and Everyon250, the mural serves as a new cultural landmark welcoming thousands of visitors that pass-through Dewey Square.

“Public art has always had the power to challenge, inspire and bring people together and that feels especially meaningful today, Dr. Audrey Lopez Director and Curator of Public Art for the Greenway said.
