DePasquale Ventures Cross Street proposal should be supported
The proposal by DePasquale Ventures to develop the vacant property at 60-70 Cross Street from Salem to Hanover Street has more merit than previous plans that were opposed by the community.
This proposal includes a welcome touch of Italian culture, heritage, culinary and flare back into the North End entrance to the small neighborhood.
The proposal calls for the placement of a restaurant/grill, culinary school and shops proving Italian made products certainly are better than fast food or a coffee chain.
The proposal, as presented, apparently will not create any major impact to the community and appears to have some supporters at a recent public meeting attended by about 100 residents with no real opposition expressed at that time.
Eventually, something will be developed on the vacant property that is gathering dust and debris.
Unless there is a better proposal for this site, the community should support the DePasquale Benches proposal.
