NSC does a great job

Just about every holiday ABCD’s North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) coordinates a luncheon, a dinner, festivities or giveaway program for needy seniors and families.

While COVID 19 hampered the NSC, making it difficult to provide many services, they still managed to provide events and activities for the neighborhood, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

NSC staff continuously looking for ways to help residents in both communities. They have been highly successful through dedication and the willingness to help make the community a better place, especially for the needy.

They do a great job.

FOCCP depends on membership   and sponsors

Just like many other non-profit community organizations depend on membership and sponsor are paramount, to continue to provide family events and activities at Christopher Columbus Park.

The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) are no exception. FOCCP needs members to renew, new members and additional sponsors from the business community to continue to provide high quality programs and events at the popular park.

FOCCP has made it their business to make the park a special treasure for everyone to enjoy.

Outdoor dining policy already sanctioned in Boston

It’s not even 2023 and the issue of outdoor dining on a citywide level has been raised and once again opposition in the North End is mounting.

The fact is there is already a City of Boston outdoor dining regulation that has been in place for some time.

This time around, it appears the city wants to, based on the current regulations, to solicit community input on utilizing outdoor dining across the City, which obviously will include the North End/Waterfront areas.

Several virtual public meetings have already taken place on a citywide basis seeking opinions on possible plans to implement the project permanently with direct input from residents and the business community.

Several North End/Waterfront neighborhood meetings will be held to provide additional information and to secure neighborhood ideas and assistance for the development of the system. Not just stop outdoor dining from occurring.

Remember, there is already an outdoor dining policy throughout the city. It’s basically for informational purposes and to obtain suggestions on how the program should be implemented.

While opposition, especially in the North end/Waterfront is expected, but likely Cross Street Hotel project, outdoor dining will surely occur, one way or another.
