Pregmon wise selection as NEAD President

North End resident John Pregmon, a neighborhood activist, has been named President of North End Against Drugs (NEAD).

He replaces long time President John Romano at the top spot on the very active organization that has served the neighborhood for over 30 years.

Pregmon, the former President and still active Board member of the elected North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) has been involved in many community endeavors, sports programs and other activities.

Based on Pregmon’s prior and ongoing neighborhood successful involvement, NEAD has made a wise selection.

Pregmon will help led the non-profit organization to continue providing information, programs, events and education dealing with drug and alcohol abuse.

Brackenbury leaving The Greenway Conservancy

This coming April, Jesse Brackenbury, Executive Director of The Greenway Conservancy will be moving on.

He has accepted a position as President and CEO of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation.

Jesse joined the Conservancy in 2009 and has been at the helm since 2013, showing extraordinary leadership and dedication.

He has enhanced the status of The Greenway with positive growth resulting in an urban oasis that has benefited the surrounding neighborhoods, and visitors that found their way to the special place.

Replacing Jesse will be a difficult task. He has accomplished many things.

Delgreco and Roman deserve recognition

Two community non-profit organizations, NEWNC and NEWRA are dealing with the many issues, developments and concerns of the North End neighborhood under trying conditions on a regular basis.

Led by NEWRA President Cheryl Delgreco and NEWNC President Brett Roman, they are going out of the away to make sure the community is fully informed and have a say in all issues, proposals, developments and suggestions that directly impact the neighborhood.

Both North Enders deserve credit and some recognition for the outstanding efforts they are making under difficult times.
