Boston’s First Youth Poet Laureate

A partnership between the City of Boston, Boston Public Library, Urban World MassLeap and 826 Boston has made it possible for the establishment of the City’s First Youth Poet Laureate.

The initiative will be aligned with the work of the Boston Poet Laureate program established in 2008 to highlight literacy arts and promote appreciation for poetry.

“Having a Youth Poet Laureate in the City of Boston is a great way for us to better that with young people that make up such a large portion on the City and play an important role in the shaping of the future of Boston,” Mayor Martin Walsh said
