Game On at Greenway

The Greenway Conservancy will host Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt’s Game On at the Foundation’s Game Day will be held on Friday, July 12, including friendly competition and a little froyo.

NEMPAC Presents Jazz in the Park

Every Tuesday night from 6 to 7:10 p.m. NEMPAC will present Jazz in the Park during the month of July on The Greenway North End Parks at North and Crossed Streets.

NEWRA Monthly Meeting

Jazz in the Park on The Greenway

North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) summer series Jazz in the Park will continue on Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m. with Sawaari ( Nexus of Indian taals, Arabic magams and trance music from North Africa and Italy). Performed on The Greenway’s North End parks at North and Cross Streets.

Italian Classes Canceled

I Am Books (North Street) and Italian American Cultural Hub, will not conduct Italian Classes during the summer, but will resume in the fall, starting on September 9 with two classes, elementary Italian I and intermediate Italian II.

Italian Reading Program

I Am Books, I Piccoli Lettori-Italian reading program for children and their parents will engage in multiple readings and games for a morning of Italian Language and Learning on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday Night Movies at Columbus Park

Sunday night movies will be presented on the East lawn of Columbus Park from July 21 to August 25. Everyone is welcome to participate in the outdoor film program.

Public Safety Meeting August 1

The next North End Public Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center.

The next Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mariners House, 11 North Square, second Floor.

Lawn Games at Columbus Park

From July 20 to September 14, Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) will conduct lawn games on the West lawn. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

FOCCP Sunset Harbor Cruise

Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) will hold its annual Sunset Cruise on board the Rendezvous on Tuesday, August 20 from 7 to 10 p.m.. Boarding begins at 6:30 p.m.

Play Croquet at Columbus Park

Play Croquet in Christopher Columbus Park, funding provided by Jack McCarthy and Edward Jones, every Wednesday through August 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Bring the family, ask friends to participate in this summer event and play in this fun lawn game.

FOCCP Schedules Many Events

Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) volunteers have been very busy this year providing many fun-filled events and projects in and for the park and have put together a wide range of activities for the rest of the year. For a full schedule call 617-635-5116.

Gardening at Columbus Park

Gardening in the Rose and Crescent Gardens on Columbus Park takes place on Wednesdays from 8:30  to 9:30 a.m. and Sundays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Residents are invited to participate.

Multi–Sports Thursdays at Nazzaro Center

BCYF Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street has formed a free multi-sports program for teams taking place each Thursday from July 8 to August 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Times may vary or change. For details call 617-635-5166.

Responsible Urbanites for Fido (RUFF) advises that the city has a great app to report incidents in the dog park, like overflow waste bins, the gate is broken and other problems. Download the Boston 311 app and report any problems.

Public Market Open

The Boston Public Market on The Greenway is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

NSC Bouna Sera

ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) will hold its 9th annual Bouna Sera, an evening with friends on Thursday, October 3. For details call 617-523-8125.

Gardening on the Greenway

Gardening on The Greenway’s Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy and Crescent Gardens takes place each Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Volunteers are welcome.

City Winery on the Greenway

Boston’s first outdoor wine garden, City Winery on The Greenway will open at Dewey Square on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30-10 p.m., Saturdays from 1-9 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

NSC Free Lunch Programs

Anyone that would like to participate in the North End Neighborhood Service Center’s free lunch program should call 617-523-8125 to reserve a spot for future meals. New clients must sign up to receive membership with ABCD. All luncheons will be announced in the timely fashion.

Nazzaro Center New Hours

The BCYF Nazzaro Center will be changing its hours of operation during the summer months due to staffing issues as well as the operational needs of the Mirabella Pool.

The schedule is as follows: Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays closed. The schedule will remain in effect from June 15 to September 2, 2019.

Old North Church Has New Hours

The Old North Church has expanded its hours of operation through October 31, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. 7 days a week. The church is always open for public worship between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Sundays.

BCYF Seeks Lifeguards

The City of Boston’s Boston Center for Youth and Families (BCYF) is seeking permanent full-time lifeguards at sixteen indoor pools. For details call Wascar Castillo at 617-635-4920, ext. 2103 or [email protected].

Homework Help

The North End Library, 25 Parmenter Street will provide homework help for kindergarten through grade six on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and Crafts are held every other Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Villa Michelangelo. For more information call 617-523-8125. In class, seniors use their muscles in their hands and arms and engage in planning and critical thinking, while being with the peers.

Past projects have included painting, flower design, centerpieces, collages and masks. Material for projects will be provided. For more info call 617-523-8125.
