Michlewitz Allocates Funds for Climate Resilience Needs

One of the charms of Christopher Columbus Park is its location on Boston Harbor, according to the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP).

“Sitting in the Park on a pretty day watching the activities on the water is a unique and calm experience,” FOCCP claims.

However, in recent years, the experience during heavy storms, which have flooded the park, making it unavailable, according to FOCCP.

“Thanks to the efforts of House Chair of Ways and Means State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, the 2020 budget for the Commonwealth includes $250,000 to address climate resilience needs,” FOCCP noted.

Also allocated were funding for Copps Hill Terrace and Cutillo Park both in the North End.

            “These types of investments in our neighborhood parks are important, especially in the downtown neighborhood and will help make sure these areas are protected and activated for years to come,” Michelwitz said.
