Celebrate Public Art during ArtWeek Boston at the American Heritage Park located between Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Christopher Columbus Park on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway.
The special event, scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at 1 p.m., features a World Labyrinth Date: Walk as One starting with an introduction to the Walk a Labyrinth at 12:45 p.m..
A reception to view their 2018 Configuration of the Abstract Sculpture will take place at 1:30 PM.
Sarah Baker, editor in chief Art New England magazine will speak. Lucas Cowan public art curator of The Greenway will introduce the speaker.
Tea and desserts will be hosted by MEM Tea Imports & Eastern Lamejun Bakers.
The special event is a program of Friends of Heritage Park in collaboration with ArtWeek Boston, Age-Friendly Boston, Eliot K-8 Innovation School, Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, Labyrinth Guide of New England & Labyrinth Walking Meetup, NorthEndWaterfront.com and The Greenway Conservancy.
           Annually in early spring, a crane lifts and pulls apart the two halves of the Abstract Sculpture, a split rhomboid dodecahedron made of steel and aluminum, to create a new sculptural configuration, symbolic of all who were pulled away from their country of origin and came to these Massachusetts shores, establishing themselves in new and different ways.
