There were no official voting items on the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) agenda at its February 12 monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center.
However, NEWNC conducted several interesting presentations related to the neighborhood, including short-term rentals, The Greenway Conservancy, plans to renovate the recreational area along Commercial Street and a study to create a new community center in the neighborhood.
North End resident Ford Cavallari, chair of the Alliance of Downtown Civic Association (ADCO) provided information related to short-term rentals. Ford is the past president of the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).
Jesse Brackenbury, Executive Director of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, updated the Council and residents on the progress of the organization and future events.
Concepts for renovations to the Commercial Street recreation area by Boston Parks and Recreation Department was discussed as well as the status to build a new community center.
