NEAD Bingo Raises Over $2,000

Over 50 people participated in the January 28 North End Against Drugs (NEAD) annual Bingo fundraiser held in the Nazzaro Community Center that raised $2,100 for youth, families and teens programs for the neighborhood.

“Once again, the members of the Board worked tirelessly to put together a great event,” NEAD President John Romano said.

“Not only did we raise money but the participants enjoyed the Bingo games and we have been asked to conduct Bingo on a monthly basis,” Romano said.

“Many businesses and individuals donated give certificates for our prizes,” he said including: Rogue Lounge, Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Caffe Paradiso, Salumeria Italian, Al Dente Restaurant, Beneventos, Ben Cotto, Prezza Ristorante, Antico Forno Restaurant, TerrMia Ristorante, Taranta Ristorante, Orzo Trattoria, Hairport, Vito’s Tavern, Carmelina’s Ristorante, Billy Tse Restaurant, North End Waterfront Health, Michael Giannasoli and North Square Oyster.

“Our elected officials, Senator Joe Boncore, Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Councilor Lydia Edwards made cash contributions to offset the costs associated with putting together this highly successful need fundraiser,” Romano said. “Their support helped provide raffle prizes, coffee and snacks.”

NEAD thanked the Nazzaro Center, the North End Seniors and all their friends and neighbors who attended, NEAD Board members and Nazzaro Center staff for all their help.

“Twenty games were played including a Cover All Finale,” Romano added. “Everyone had a fun time and we raised much-needed funds for NEAD.”
