Mayor a solid ally

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh has been convincingly reelected to another four-year term as the main man at City Hall.

As far as the North End/Waterfront neighborhood, the Mayor has produced in a totally positive manner in many shapes and forms over the years.

He has been a solid ally to the community and he will continue to do so.

The repairs are coming… The repairs are coming

Renovations and repairs to the Paul Revere Mall (Prado) have taken a giant step forward as the City of Boston Parks Department has laid out plans for the two-million project at its last community meeting held.

Residents and the Old North Church seem to be pleased with the overall proposed project that included all the necessary work needed to be done to make the mall assessable, safe and enjoyable.

However, they did object to vendors, bike stations and tables and chairs being placed in the mall on the historic Freedom Trail leading to the Old North Church.

The community has been requesting major repairs for some time and it appears that their endeavor has paid off in spades as the Parks Department is ready to rock and roll once the entire budget is approved and the bids go out this winter for a developer.

It’s been a long time in the making but soon the mall will be restored.

Have a terrific Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day, November 23, is a special time for families and friends to get together and reflect on all the good things that have occurred over the past year or so.

It’s also a great time to sit down and dine, hold discussions and enjoy the solid feeling of being a family.

Please have a great and enjoyable Thanksgiving Day.

Boston needs Amazon for many reasons

This community newspaper has said it before and we can’t stress it enough, Boston residents and the entire business community has to do everything possible to ensure that the city is able to convince Amazon to located its second corporate headquarters in this fast-growing city.

Mayor Walsh has produced a solid proposal outlining the city’s strengths and goals and a roadmap for growing inclusively with Amazon.

Boston economy can surely use the thousands of high-paying jobs Amazon brings with a new headquarters plus $50 million in construction that the major company will produce.

Additional Parks Department community meetings will be held

The first of several Boston Parks Department community meetings has been held to discuss a $4.5 million renovation project for the recreation complex along Commercial Street which includes the baseball, softball and soccer fields, bocce courts, children’s play and much more.

The idea of the first of several meetings that will take place is to solicit community ideas, suggestions and direct input from the neighborhood for the purpose of planning before the bid is sent out.

Residents should make an effort to attend the next meeting will be announced by the Parks Department.
