Boston Harbor Now, a non-profit partner of the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park has once again coordinated their efforts to sponsor a Military Historic Harbor Cruise with the Arbella Insurance Foundation by sponsoring a cruise of the Harbor Islands for veterans and their families.

The special cruise honors veterans and active members of the military by highlighting the military history of the Islands. The visit to Georges Island will include tours of Fort Warren, Junior Rangers activities and a commemorative wreath laying.

Usually close for the season both islands are being reopened specifically for this special event by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Baker-Polito Administration.

Scheduled for Sunday, November 12 the cruise is free to veterans and up to three members of their families and friends. The cruise boat will depart from Long Wharf at 11:15 AM. An earlier cruise departs at 10:30 AM from the Charlestown Navy Yard. Members of the general public can take the cruise for a$10 fee.

“Arbella Insurance has been long committed to programs that support and honor veterans, and working with Boston Now to give back to those who have served,” said John Donohue, Chairman, President and CEO.
