Boston Local Food Extravaganza Features Family Fun Zone

By Phil Orlandella

Boston Local Food Festival held a special Family Fun Zone on The Greenway, that was filled with exciting interactive games and activities for the entire family.

From getting physical to being in touch with animals of the land and sea, there was something to do for everyone at the Family Fun Zone, sponsored by The Trustees and KA S Consulting and held at the Rings Fountain.

Once again, The Trustees brought the experience of the farm to The Greenway. Grande Old Goats took part in the event, and was an interactive favorite with children meeting and milking the guest goats from Chestnut Hill Farms, Southborough.

Painting as Art and Ritual transformed faces into roaring lions, timid tigers or cut the lead Teddy bears, plus anything from butterflies and flowers to superheroes or action figures.

Also featured at the well-attended event included: Tidepool Touch Tank with New England Aquarium; Kite Making and Stomp Rockets with Science on the Street with Cambridge Science Festival; Wildflower Planting and Pretty Produce Prints with The Trustees; Pretty Produce Rents with composting lessons with Trustees; Imagination Playground presented by The Greenway; Veggie Squad courtesy of Boston Public Market and the trustees; Bicycle Apple Press with The Trustees; Being Bag Tossed with The Trustees; Rabbits and chickens and more presented by Chestnut Hill And Weir River Farm; Bollywood Performance followed by Dance with Shikha Bajpai from Studio Bollywood and move to the music of jazz, soul and funk with Afrobeat Fit.
