Annual Boston Local Food Festival on the Greenway

By Phil Orlandella

More than 40,000 local eaters are expected to attend the 8th annual Boston Food Festival, where over 100 vendors will be featured at New England’s largest Farmers’ Market held on The Greenway.

Each year, for one spectacular day, The Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts presents the festival, celebrating the joys of eating local foods.

The Festival will be held on Sunday, September 17 from 11 AM to 5 PM with the opening program and Festival kick off taking place at 12 noon, at Fish Stock on Milk Street.

Participants will be able to purchase local dairy, meat, produce, and fresh cooked dishes made with food grown in New England and locally.

The free admission Festival is produced by SBN and is based on the principles of local, green and fair. It offers local farmers, restaurants, chefs, specialty producers, related non-profit and service providers the opportunity to showcase their culinary creations and programs in a lively outdoor setting.

Also featured at the festival will be live chef demos, a New England Village, family fun zone and a Seafood Throwdown competition as well as diverse musical and performances.
