Taste of the North End to Hold Benefit Bocce Tournament

Probably the biggest benefit bocce tournament held each year in the North End is the Taste of the North End benefit event held at the Langone courts on Commercial Street.

The tournament, which supports local scholarships and many North End community organizations, began thirteen years ago and has become a tradition in the historic North End and Waterfront district.

Many teams and sponsors have become a part of this fundraiser that fills the stands with hundreds of spectators.

Two trophies will be presented at the tournament. The first-place team, “Championship Trophy” and the “Sponsor’s Trophy” awarded to the company or agency who sponsored the bracket from which the champions emerged.

Gold sponsors ($1,000) includes naming one of the brackets after the place of business as well as the company’s name being featured significantly on their players T-shirt. In addition, Gold sponsorships will receive a tournament polo shirt embroidered with the company’s name on it and one team entry into the tournament.

Silver sponsors ($500) name will appear on the T-shirts and an entry into the tournament which will be held on Sunday, September 10 at 10 AM.

            Check should be made out to: Taste of the North End and mailed to PO Box 130135, Boston, MA 02113. Checks must be received by Friday, September 1, or call 781-956-7441.
