The North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NSC) has been very active lately.

Director Maria Stella Gulla met with Boston Mayor Martin Walsh at the Blackstone Apartments to discuss Boston 2030 initiatives including, the need for affordable housing and transportation options for aging seniors.

Many residents turned out to listen to the Mayor and ask questions.

NSC excepted items from the Boston Harborside Home, J. S. Waterman and Sons-Warying-Langone sponsored a food drive for the North End Pantry through a company barbecue.

Dino C. Manca, Managing Director and staff were at the Center to present many items. They also accepted the monthly Whole-Body donation from Whole Food’s Market distribution by the Center from its Food Pantry.

The organization commemorated summer at the Amy Lowell House with over two-dozen residents attending.

For the past two years, the Center’s been alternating monthly congregate lunches in the West End at both the Amy Lowell House Apartments and Blackstone Apartments.
