Joi of Summer Event Raises Money for N.E.A.D. Programs

On Thursday August 10, Joi Salon and Spa at 2 Atlantic Ave held their 4th Annual Joi of Summer fundraising event. For the second year in a row North End Against Drugs (NEAD) was the recipient of the funds collected.

There were great appetizers donated by The Living Room and an awesome raffle with prizes donated by the following businesses: Bellissimo Nail Salon,Capo Restaurant, Forge/Diesel/Bloc11 Cafe’s, Paddy’s Pub, I Am Books, Improv Asylum, Loft&Vine, MyStryde, The Golden Goose, Howl at the Moon, Starbucks,The Boston Sail Loft, Bricco Restaurant, Crudo Restaurant, LuLu’s Sweet Shoppe, RevitaLash, Joe’s Bar & Grille, Newbury Guest House, Unique Salon Concepts, Boston Madison Square Garden Club, Professional Salon Services.

Also, you could get some fun special mini spa treatments done by the phenomenal staff at Joi a spray tan or Beachy waves.

Along with the event at Joi, Allison from In-Jean-ius had set up a small pop-up stand at the salon and donated a percentage of the proceeds from the any sales and Loft & Vine donated a percentage of proceeds from any sale at their shop on the day of the event.

Several NEAD Board members, Karen D’Amico, Patricia Romano, Olivia Scimeca, Ann Fitzgerald, Maria Lanza and John Romano, were in attendance to enjoy the festivities, support the event and renew the friendships made with the staff at Joi, who donated their time to the event.

The event raised $2085.00 to help with N.E.A.D. programs, events and activities for the coming year.

“On be half of the NEAD. board of directors I want to give a big shout out and thank you to Eric Harris, Joi Salon Owner and all of her staff Christina Wilson, Amanda Leaman, Jensy Padilla, Molly Pare, Jade Federico, Briana Norwood, Tricia Dillon and Michelle Nolan, as well as Sarah Cooney of Loft & Vine, Alison Barnard of In-jean-ius, all the businesses who donated raffle items and also the The Living Room for all of their help and support,  stated N.E.A.D. President John Romano, it was a truly fun night and we appreciate their continued support of the youth and families of the North End/Waterfront neighborhood.”
