Endeavor to rekindle New Year’s Eve firework display

Bringing back Boston Harbor New Year’s Eve fireworks display would be a terrific achievement especially for North End/Waterfront residents, the business community and the thousands of others that a fireworks display will attract to Boston Harbor.

An endeavor, by Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP), Boston Harbor Now and the Wharf District, is currently underway to do just that through a fundraising quest, that will once again fill the Harbor sky with a beautiful display of New Year’s Eve fireworks.

However, rekindling the extremely popular event will be costly to usher in the New Year.

A fireworks display will be enjoyed by thousands of people and will benefit local and surrounding area businesses.

The goal is to ultimately have two displays, one on each side of the Harbor at a cost of $80,000 or one display in the center of the Harbor at a cost of $40,000.

Bringing in the New Year in a special way, reflects a new start, dreams of success, good health and hope.

Anyone interested in helping this group achieved this most worthy endeavor should visit foccp.org.

Harborfest a top-notch celebration

Boston Harborfest, a week-long festival, celebrating American Independence, was a patriotic twenty-one-gun salute honoring the city’s Colonial Roots and showcasing Boston’s vibrant Harbor.

Thousands of people from all over the state participated in the special event that featured ceremonies, entertainment and many activities relating to the theme.

Over the years (36) Harborfest has grown from a local event to a national celebration. It is considered to be the country’s largest Fourth of July Festival with numerous activities at Boston’s best landmarks.

Harborfest is a family Festival that provides fun, education and entertainment. It has always been a top-notch celebration.
