At its June monthly meeting the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) announced its officers: President John Pregmon, Vice President Carmine Guarino, Sergeant at Arms Gennaro Riccio, and Secretary Brett Roman.
Two informational items were on NEWNC’s agenda.
Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) Vice President Ann Babbit presented upcoming and future activities at the popular park. She also mentioned an endeavor by FOCCP, Boston Harbor Now and Wharf District Council for the return of New Year Eve’s fireworks on Boston Harbor this coming December 31.
Both the North Bennet Street School President Miguel Gomez-Ibanez and North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Board Chairperson Dianne Royle expressed their intentions to purchase 128 North Street for expansion of the other prospective programs.
The property owned by MassDOT is approximately 6,000 square feet.
The next NEWNC monthly meeting will be held on Monday, July 10 at 7 PM in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street. All residents are welcome to attend.
