Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) will conduct its annual and traditional Independence Day Celebration this coming Saturday, July 1 starting with a kid’s parade through the park at 11:45 AM and continue until 4 PM.

The event is free and will also feature Uncle Sam on stilts, Benjamin the Juggler, the Trolls from the movie, Station 8 Fire Truck, the New England Aquarium’s touch tank, Magician Peter O’Malley, Jim the Bubble Guy and much more.

FOCCP has made this event a tradition in the neighborhood with hundreds of residents, families and visitors participating and enjoying the special event.

The non-profit organization is able to present the Independence Day Celebration with the help of sponsors North End Boston.com, Sanibel Electric Corporation, CL Waterfront Properties, LLC, Joe’s American Bar + Grill, Marriott Long Wharf and Tia’s Restaurant.

Through the course of the year, FOCCP hosts many other events and activities at Columbus Park for the neighborhood and visitors.

These events also draw customers for local businesses and those in the surrounding areas.
