BPDA Approves North Washington Street Hotel

Nine projects were approved by the Boston Planning Development Agency (BPDA) Board of Directors including a new hotel in the North End at 88 North Washington Street.

The hotel being developed by LIMAC Realty, LLC will include 64 guest rooms, 12 retail and management jobs.

The new structure will contain 36,013 gross square feet and is a 14-story hotel. Located a four-minute walk to North Station and is adjacent to the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

It will consist of a first-floor lobby, second floor mezzanine, and 12 levels of guest rooms in total, 128 feet tall with the total development cost of $16,500,000.

Working through the community process, the developer, in response to feedback, approximately 16 feet of height and six hotel rooms were removed from the proposed project.

A 36,000 contribution will be made to the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department to be used for Parcel 2 based upon insurance of the building permit for the proposed project.
