Boston Barber Company celebrate its 10th anniversary

Boston Barber and Tattoo Company, a popular business located on Salem Street recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of doing business on Salem Street.

Owned and operated by local resident Bob Dello Russo, the business has professional staff located in a modern atmosphere.

Boston Barber and Tattoo Company participates in many neighborhood activities providing financial support and is considered “A Good Neighbor”.

Street cleaning is underway, move your vehicle

The City of Boston’s mechanical street cleaning program is currently underway and residents need to make sure their vehicles are properly removed from the designated North End street on the posted day and time in order for the Public Works Department to do their job picking up debris from neighborhood streets.

At times, North End streets are so full of clutter, the curb stone disappears, creating an unsightly mess that has potential health issues.

Tagging and towing are the penalties for not complying but not having a clean neighborhood must be part of the equation.

MassDOT seeks comments on five year CIP plan

Neighborhood organizations, as well as individual residents should take full advantage of expressing comments and suggestions on potential transportation projects which could be included in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) upcoming five-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP).

Now in the process of updating the CIP for fiscal years 2018-2021 and adding on fiscal year 2022, MassDOT is welcoming import through the public engagement process.

MassDOT claims every suggestion, comment, or email will be taken into consideration so neighborhood groups and/or residents should respond to the offer with intelligent requests of concerns.

Plans currently call for funding, design, construction, and maintaining transportation assets that enables the state, its residents and the economy to flourish.

For this to occur, the MBTA and each MassDOT agency must identify and prioritize the most beneficial investments, those that will meet long-term goals for mobility, sustainability and broad-based prosperity.

The CIP is informed by a strategic vision, influenced by public and stakeholder input sought from the beginning of the process. Projects are selected on an objective and comparative evaluation.

This is a positive way for people to express their point of view in the area of public transportation and hopefully there are those who care enough to respond.

For information visit www.massgov/massdot/cip.

Public comments can be submitted by email to masscip@state.ma.us.

NEAA Baseball Opening Day April 29

Family, friends and neighbors should make an effort to attend some of the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) Minor and Major League baseball games played at Langone Field on Commercial Street.

The neighborhood teams will present their baseball skills and they would love to see people in the stands supporting them.

The baseball program begins with an Opening Day on Saturday, April 29, ceremony and six games starting at 10 AM.

It would be a grand slam to see neighborhood residents at the park supporting the kids.
