Boston teenagers seeking a summer job can now register online at www.Youth.Boston.Gov. according to Maria Lanza of the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services.
She noted the following requirements: must be a full-time resident of the City of Boston, must turn 15 years old on or before Friday, August 18, 2017, cannot turn 19 years old, on or before Friday, August 18, 2017, must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Registering for the job lottery with SuccessLink does not guarantee a job opportunity.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh & Boston Center’s for Youth & Families Division of Youth Engagement and Employment present the SuccessLink Employment Program.
The City of Boston has partnered with hundreds of community and nonprofit organizations across the city to provide meaningful employment opportunities for thousands of Boston teens ages 15 to 18.
Participants can work in various positions that include: camp counselors, administrative assistants, mural painters, peer leaders and many more.
For the summer of 2017, Youth Engagement & Employment (YEE) will be moving to a fully randomized lottery selection process. The first round of the random selection will begin April 3, 2017. Each applicant will be assigned a number to which marks their position in the lottery after the SuccessLink application closes.
