North Station Transportation Action Plan Meeting Scheduled

By Phil Orlandella

A North Station Area Mobile Action Plan public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16 at the West End Museum, 150 Staniford Street with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) and the Boston Transportation Department, in conjunction with other cities and towns.

A public meeting was held on September 2 to share goals and develop visions for the project with those impacted by the project including representatives from the North End who have expressed a potential traffic problem for the neighborhood.

Apparently, this upcoming public meeting will present future transportation conditions and analysis, as well as potential transportation projects.

Back in September, the action plan announced it will develop both a range of near-term and long-term implementable solutions for the improvement of transportation in areas adjacent to North Station, including the Bulfinch Triangle, TD Garden, Charles River Park, Brooke Courthouse, Nashua Street and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Many North End residents have concerns regarding how this project will affect traffic once the Washington Street Bridge is under construction.
