Businesses support many local events

Local businesses have really come forward by supporting many North End events, field trips and activities hosted by several neighborhood organizations at different venues throughout the community.

Too often the business community is criticized for many reasons but they don’t receive the recognition they deserve for helping out the neighborhood when they do.

Businesses are a part of the community and they do their part to support local agencies and organizations.

RUFF holds great Dog Show

If you miss the Responsible Urbanites For Fido (Ruff) Dog Show in DeFilippo Park you missed a great treat.

Local canine owners had their pets compete in six different categories wagging their tails with each presentation.

The handclapping was much louder than the barking as the dogs Ruffed their way through the competition.

Local talent performs A Night of Classic Anarchy

Boston Community Collaborative’s (BCC) recent production of “A Night of Classic Anarchy” held in DeFilippo playground was a hit.

The cabaret style event of experimentation and innovation featured eight youth performers and three professional actors, performing various combinations of outdoor theater.

Youth performers from the Eliot Innovation K-8 and St. John Schools participated in the production that was enjoyed by many people that attended.

Boston Community Collaborative (BCC) provides a local youth the opportunity to work with professional actors in order to gain different perspectives relating to theater.

BCC did a great job.

Society hosted terrific Halloween Party and Parade

There are several Halloween events held each year in the North End but only one howled over all of them, the Madonna Della Cava Society’s free party and costume parade.

This was the 65th consecutive popular and well-attended spooky event that featured witches, monsters and a full array of other characters.

Participants enjoyed some goodies, a free raffle, games, activities, face painting and much more.

The Society, as usual, did an outstanding job providing the community with an outstanding event that everyone really enjoy.
