NEMPAC Presents Free Concert

By Phil Orlandella

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) will be presenting a free concert of Handel’s Part I of “The Messiah” on Wednesday, December 14th at St. Stephen’s Church in the North End. For the second year, NEMPAC will be collaborating with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra’s One City Choir for this special project.

The Messiah will include musicians from the Eureka Ensemble to form the NEMPAC Holiday Orchestra, conducted by Kristo Kondakci, the Boston Landmarks Orchestra’s One City Choir, NEMPAC Soloists, and St. John School Children’s Choir. Soloists will be announced early November.

Singers of any experience level are invited to join NEMPAC and participate in the Boston Landmark Orchestra’s One City Choir this year. To participate, please visit www.nempacboston.org.

This concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $15 to $20. NEMPAC suggests reserving tickets ahead of time online, please visit www.nempacboston.org or contact us at 617-227-2270.

“NEMPAC’s mission is to make quality music programming accessible and affordable to all. This free event truly allows NEMPAC to reach everyone in the community. It also engages singers from every neighborhood in Boston to join together to create music and further their involvement and support of the Arts in the City. The spirit of collaboration, community, and holiday fun provides a quality, inspiring artistic experience for any audience member,” NEMPAC Executive Director Sherri Snow said.
