Budget Includes Many North End Needed Projects

In its Fiscal Year 2017 budget Boston managed to come up with $1.9 million for Paul Revere Mall (Prado) improvements that residents and some non-profit agencies have requested for dire renovations.

Site furnishings, pathways, landscaping, utility work on the fountain and Paul Revere equestrian improvement fall into the budget for the largest public walkway to and from historic sites in the area.

Many schools use the site for recreational purposes, several neighborhood events are held in the public space and residents take advantage of the area to sit, relax, have lunch, read a book, take in the sun, or the picturesque view.

The announcement from Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Boston City Counselor Sal LaMattina was a welcome surprise to the neighborhood.

There is more, Public Works will be doing, working in North Square and Cutillo Playground basketball court.

There is even more, Rachel Revere Park in North Square, is set to receive a significant amount of dollars to reconstruct the plaza, play area and pathways.

There is still more. Public Facilities Department (PFD) plans to do a study for a new community center in the neighborhood.
