Police Make Nine Arrests in North End

During the month of March, District A-1 Boston Police made nine arrests relating to several crimes including larceny, robbery, breaking and entering, drugs, domestic violence, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

These incidents were widely spread over the community on Sheafe Street, Baldwin Place, Prince Street, Fulton Street, Margaret Street, Hanover St., Tileston Street, Greenough Lane, Henchmen Street and Stillman Street.

There were also several incidents involving homeless people according to Captain William Fong, Commanding Officer District A-1 who presented a report on Part One Crime at the North End/Waterfront Police Public Safety meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center.

The Captain also addressed residents about delivered packages being stolen in the neighborhood. He also noted that Part One Crime in the community was up one percent.

The one robbery took place at Bova’s Bakery where a white male stole someone’s gold chain at knife point. He was eventually captured by police, was identified as the person that took the chain and arrested.

A loud party response on Hanover Street resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old male for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

A male was arrested on Henchmen Street for an apparent domestic violence involving his girlfriend. An arrest was made on Baldwin Place of a male that attempted to break into several apartments. A wallet was stolen from an apartment on Fulton Street. A motor scooter cover was stolen on Stillman Street.

A male was arrested on Greenough Lane for possession of drugs and marijuana with intent to sell. A male was also arrested at CVS on Hanover Street for being disorderly and destruction of property. Several packages were stolen on Fulton, Hanover and Tileston Streets.

The next Public Safety monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 6pm in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennett Street.
