Carmen Rauseo Caprio

A long time member of the school staff at Christopher Columbus high school ;  woman of elegance and style who set high goals and standards for herself and her children

Carmen Rauseo Caprio of Juno Beach, Florida, passesd away on October 23  in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida after a brief illness. She was 92 years young.

She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Louis William Caprio, Sr. of Revere and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Michelena Rauseo of East Boston. She is survived by her loving son, Louis William Caprio, Jr and his wife, Elizabeth of Miami, Florida and was a devoted mother to the late Lucille DiFlumeri of Revere and the late Robert Caprio, of Coral Springs, Fflorida. Carmen was one of 11 siblings and is survived only by her dear sister, Margaret Tripoli of Peabody. Carmen was loved and loved all her grandchildren: Christopher Di Flumeri and his wife, Nicole, Keith Caprio and his wife, Agatha, Kenneth Caprio, Danielle Caprio, Ashley Porcaro and her husband, Steven, Tye Ridolfi and Sinclaire Caprio. Carmen also enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her great-grandchildren: Madelyn Schmidt, Sierra Di Flumeri, Ruthie Sullivan and Dominic Caprio.

Carmen was born in Boston and was an honors graduate of Boston Latin High School. In addition to raising three children, she was a long time school administrator at Christopher Columbus High School, in Boston’s North End. Carmen lived in the Boston area for 75 years before moving to Boca Raton permanently in 2002, then relocated again in 2008 to The Waterford Community in Juno Beach, FL, where she lived the remainder of her years. She was an active member of her church and community while living in Boston and continued that commitment in Florida right up to the last month of her life.

Carmen’s commitment to her family, her faith and God supported and carried her through to her very last days. She was a woman of elegance and style, who set high goals and standards for herself and expected no less from her children.

A Mass celebrating Carmen’s life will be held at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Revere on Saturday, November 14, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmen’s memory to the Franciscan Mission Associates, 274-280 West Lincoln Ave, P.O.
