NEMPAC Opera soars

North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) set the stage with a stunning rendition of Puccini’s “La Boheme” in the Great Hall at Faneuil Hall and a free community performance featured at Saint Stephen Church on Hanover Street.

Entering their fourth year of the opera project, NEMPAC has successfully seen a growth in audience and more involvement from the community is on the upswing.

NEMPAC continues to provide the community through various genres of music helping the North End being recognized as a destination for and culture.

North End Movie Nights is a terrific community event

North End Movie Nights held in DiFilippo Playground has been a huge success for many years.

Well over 100 residents attend the free neighborhood festivities with their chairs and sometimes blankets.

Pizzeria Regina has provided pizza since the inception of the very popular community activity.

Many others have supported or volunteered to make the Movie Nights the success it always is.

North End Movie Nights is one of the best events that takes place in the community each summer.

FOCCP does it again

It was a terrific Independence Day schedule of activities, events, games and a parade presented by the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) on the Waterfront.

Each year the popular holiday celebration gets bigger and better drawing more and more participants.

It was a highly enjoyable annual event that provided North End/Waterfront residents and visitors with fun and entertainment.

FOCCP coordinates many other activities at the park throughout the year.

Local businesses support FOCCP film series

Once again, Sunday Night at the Park, a series of six movies, has been sponsored by Joe Guarino, the owner of Boston Push Cart, Benevento Restaurant and Al Dente Restaurant.

This is a great example of local businesses giving something back to the neighborhood. In this case, on Christopher Columbus Park.

The film series is always well attended and enjoyed by residents and visitors.
