Maria Lanza a Solid Community Person

In her second candidacy, Maria Lanza topped the ticket in the yearly North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) community election picking up over fifty percent of the votes cast by residents.

Lanza was the youngest person elected to serve on the Council in 2013 missing the top spot by just seven votes.

Born and raised in the North End, Maria is fully aware of the issues, problems and concerns related to the neighborhood.

During her first term, Maria clearly indicated her desire to make the community a safe and convenient place to live, work and play.

Maria is extremely energetic and a knowledgeable person with a lot of suggestions and goals to protect the community from overdevelopment and its lifestyle.

While Maria is soft-spoken and treats people with respect, “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” when she needs to she can aggressively take on issues, proposals and requests that relate to the community.
