Luongos Celebrate 67th Anniversary

On Saturday, April 25, 2015 Walter and Grace Luongo celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.  Walter met Grace in 1947 and were married in 1948. They are life long residents of the North End. Walter who will be celebrating his 90th birthday in May has served our country in World War II from 1943 to 1946 as command sergeant major.  He remained in the army as an active reservist for 35 years.  His wife Grace who will be 88 years old in July was a homemaker throughout their marriage and helped raise their three children Janice Luongo, Christine (Luongo) Hadaya and Peter Luongo.  Their children, son-in-law George Hadaya, daughter-in-law Susan Luongo, some of their grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered at their home in the North End on Saturday to celebrate the joyous occasion. Part of the celebration included Chinese food from Billy Tse’s and a delicious rum cake from Modern Pastry
