Hundreds of people patiently awaited the arrival of Santa Claus by helicopter at Puopolo Park on Commercial Street in the North End.
Santa visited the community for the annual North End Athletic Association (NEAA) North End Christmas Parade which wound its way through neighborhood streets spreading the holiday spirit, led by a Boston Police escort.
A Boston Fire Department truck carried the jolly old Gent from the North Pole through the parade route.
Upon arrival, Santa met all the children and their parents or grandparents and posed for photos with them.
Children also met a host of TV characters and received free balloons.
Most of the participants followed the Christmas Parade the entire route.
Many agencies and organizations helped make the parade the success it was.
