Boston City Councilors are entitled to a pay raise. They worked very hard to attempt to make the city a great place to live and work.
Being an elected member of the Council is a 24-7 job that requires much attention to requests and suggestions from Bostonians made on a daily basis.
A lot of time and effort both in the office and out in the neighborhood is required by Councilors with most of the time dealing with complaints, problems and needs.
Councilors are expected to resolve problems, issues and needs as soon as possible and when they really cannot accomplish the goals they get a black eye and negative comments throughout the neighborhood.
On the other hand, when Councilors come through, they do not receive the recognition due them.
A pay raise for Boston City Councilors is totally in order.
