The House and Senate made history with the passage of comprehensive gun safety legislation that will make neighborhood, streets and homes safer places to live, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh noted in a prepared statement.
“With this legislation, the Commonwealth will once again be a national model for not only the contents of this bill but also the process by which we arrived at this point,” the Mayor said.
“Our legislators put aside their differences and by working together, created a bill that will have a tremendous impact on our efforts to reduce gun violence in the Commonwealth,” he noted.
Senator Anthony Petrucelli and Representative Aaron Michlewitz who represent the North End on Beacon Hill supported the bill.
