Mayor Martin Walsh has set his sights on having Boston named as the host city of the 2024 Summer Olympics and is actively promoting the city with the governing body USOC, which makes the ultimate decision on what city will be selected.
Reportedly, the mayor’s administrative staff is committed to gain a full understanding of the impacts a Summer Olympics would have on the city and its surrounding neighborhoods.
While there is already some opposition to the idea, there is simply no problem with pursing an opportunity of having the Summer Olympics in the City of Boston.
First of all, let’s get the facts before stones begin to fly.
If this is doable, it would be great for the city to host such a prestigious world-wide event.
Who knows, the mayor may be barking up right tree.
