Emma Freni

Member of Ladies Auxiliary Revere Moose

Emma (DeLuca) Freni of Revere, formerly of Boston’s North End, died at home surrounded by her family on August 31. She was 84 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Emma moved to Revere in 1958 and was a member of the Revere Loyal Order of Moose, ladies auxiliary.

The daughter of the late Nicola and Louisa (Vigilante) DeLuca, she was the beloved wife of 61 years to Dominic Freni; devoted mother of Jocelyn Coleman and her husband, Mark of Wilmington, Kirsten Freni and her companion, William “Billy” Ruliera of Winthrop; dear sister of Lena DeLuca of Boston’s North End and the late Vincent DeLuca and Marie Bailey; cherished grandmother of Christopher and Nikkia Marcin, both of Wilmington and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Maurizio Loddo

Restauranteur and Chef

Maurizio Loddo, restauranteur and chef of Maurizio’s Ristorante in Boston, died August 27 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his mother, Enrica; brothers Nicola and Daniele Loddo, all of Sardinia, Italy as well as his long time companion Mary Monaco of Winthrop and his ex wife and business partner, Linda Loddo of Peabody.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at 2 p.m. at St. Leonard’s Church on Hanover Street, North End, Boston.  Friends are welcome to attend.

Robert Stanchi, Jr.

Of Revere, formerly of the North End

Robert R. Stanchi, Jr. of Revere, formerly of the North End, died on September 6 at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home following a long illness. He was 81 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he moved to Revere in 1955. He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict for about four years and was a machine operator and fence installer for several area construction companies. A long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, he was also a long time member of the Joseph Mottollo VFW Post 4524 of Revere.

He was the beloved son of the late Robert R., Sr. and Mary (Sicorello) Stanchi; the dear brother of the late Richard R. and Carmen A. Stanchi; loving brother in law of Rachel E. Stanchi of Wilmington and the late Erna M. Stanchi; the cherished uncle to: Michelle M. Stanchi of Wilmington, Michael R. Stanchi and his wife, Kathryn “Kate” of Winthrop and Conrad Dampolo and his wife, Elizabeth of Saugus. He is also lovingly survived by several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass today, Wednesday, September 11 at 11 a.m in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere. Visitng hours are respectfully omitted. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the “Patients’ Recreation Fund” at Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea, MA 02150. For more information, visit: www.vertuccioandsmith.com
