North Ender Hurling for Fitchburg State Falcons

Michael Martignetti

North End resident Michael Martignetti is currently pitching for the Fitchburg State Falcons as a relief and sometimes spot starter on the 9-4-1 team.

The Freshman, started his last game against Clark University hurling 5 solid innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 4 batters.

Michael is a product of the North End Athletic Association baseball system where he led the 9-12 year old Tigers Little League team to a championship in 2005.

Last season, Michael helped his 19 and under NEAA Dodgers Traveling team capture the Lou Thompson Senior Division Championship.

A graduate of Arlington Catholic High, where he also pitched and hit well, Michael stands 6’1″ tall and weighs 195 lbs. Michael’s out pitch is a nasty curveball but he can bring the heat as well.

“I’m very excited to have made the team as a Freshman and I’m looking forward to playing four years of top notch baseball for the Falcons,” Michael said.

Michael has strong baseball pedigree, his grandfather the late Ralph Martignetti, Senior was a heck of a ball player and his dad Ralph Jr. also played college baseball at Suffolk University and could play the game well.

While his dad spends plenty of time organizing the NEAA Major League as its Commissioner, he always finds the time to take in some of Michael’s games and has traveled as far as Florida to see his son play ball.
