Police Arrest Suspect for Church Break-in

A 37 year old man was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, January 14 for breaking and entering of St. Leonard Church on Hanover Street according to District A-1 Boston Police Captain Thomas Lee.

The area commanding officer said, “Detectives executed a warrant on Richard Shiner and recommended he be held in custody.”

As a result of three previous break-ins, the three churches in the North End closed their doors earlier in the day, apparently to the outrage of the community.

Now that an arrest has been made, police detectives have notified the churches and hopefully they will return to their former public hours.
