Bronze Unveiled in Honor of Champ Tony DeMarco

Former Welterweight Champion of the World (1955) Tony DeMarco is shown with family and friends at the unveiling of a bronze statue in his honor at the entrance to the North End.

It was a terrific day for the North End as one of its native sons, Tony DeMarco former Welterweight Champ of the World (1955), was immortalized with a bronze statue placed at the entrance to the neighborhood where the champ lived on Fleet Street.

Many of DeMarco’s friends, family, fans and local residents turned out for the special event honoring DeMarco for his achievement in the World of Boxing.
