Grace DeInnocentis

Of Malden, formerly of the North End

Grace C. (Damiano) (Savini) DeInnocentis of Malden, formerly a long-time resident of the North End, died on October 9.

She was the devoted wife of the late Gaetano “Guy” Savini and Angelo DeInnocentis; mother of Sandra Robson of Revere, Stephanie Savini of Malden, and the late Joseph Savini, Sr.; adored grandmother of Joanna Savini and Joseph Savini, Jr.,, beloved great-grandmother of Jonathan Carpenter, all of Carver and beloved sister of the late Lorraine D’Angelo.

Pasquale Ricci

Of Medford, formerly of the North End

Pasquale Ricci of Medford, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on October 6.

The beloved husband of Ofelia (Susi), he was the devoted father of Domenico Ricci and his wife, Rosemary of Peabody, Laura Colantuoni and her husband, Bruno of Norwood; loving grandfather of Anthony P. Ricci, Frank P., Bruno, Paul and Anthony Colantuoni. Brother of Ida Gelsomini of Italy and the late Maria Ricci, Francesco Ricci, and Filomena Tibri.

Anthony Picone

Of Wilmington, formerly of Boston’s North End

Anthony J. Picone of Wilmington, formerly of Medford and Boston’s North End, died on October 5.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Caruso); devoted father of Anita Longo and her husband Edward of Wilmington, Dr. John Picone of Okemos, MI, Dr. David Picone and his wife Katie of Mason, MI, Richard Picone and his wife Kathi of Freemont, NH; loving grandfather of Greg, Alicia and Shadow Longo, Alyssa, Jessica, Allison and Anthony Picone; brother of the late Domenic Picone, Mary LoVuolo, Laura Brogna, Mario Picone, Stella Giovino, Frank Picone and Rita Mancinelli. Jean Aceto

Devoted and Loving Mother

Jean (LaLicata) Aceto died while undergoing palliative care at Wingate of Reading on October 1, her 85th birthday, with her loving family at her bedside.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the beloved daughter of Sicilian natives, Aggrippino and Josephina LaLicata.  She married Antonio Aceto and together they resided in Boston’s West End, Cambridge and East Boston where she settled for most of her adult life.

A devoted homemaker, Catholic and beloved friend, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.  For the past several years she was a daily visitor with Community Family in Medford, a senior care center. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 1986, and lived in Everett with her son for the last several years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Aceto; devoted mother of Angela Aceto Mila of Quincy,  Peter Aceto of Everett, JoAnn Santaniello of North Reading,  Michael Aceto of Boston and the late Lorraine Aceto; dear sister of the late Salvi Alegata, Joseph Alegata and Mary Tracy.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, Chelsea. Burial was at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Rosario Mogavero

Owned Rosario’s Fruit Store in Boston’s North End

Rosario Mogavero of Beachmont Revere died on October 3 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The husband of the late Carmela (LoRe) Mogavero, he was born in Italy, the son of the late Guisseppe and Domenica Mogavero. He was the owner of the former Rosario’s Fruit Store on Parmenta Street in Boston’s North End.

Mr. Mogavero leaves two sons, Joseph Mogavero of No. Billerica and Albert Mogavero and his wife, Anna of Revere; one daughter, Mary Mogavero VanGils and her husband, Ben of Belgium; two granddaughters, Gabriella and Isabella; one brother, Frank Mogavero of Revere, two sisters, Christina Monteleone and Maria Borzelliere both of Italy.

Alexander ‘Uncle Sonny’ Merola

Of East Boston, Formerly of the North End

Alexander “Uncle Sonny” Merola of East Boston, formerly of the North End, died on October 5.

A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy “Aunt Dot” (Cioffi) Merola; loving father of Rose Merola of East Boston, step-father of Doreen DiNicola of East Boston and the late Joseph and Rocky DiNicola; cherished grandfather of Kristen Connelly and Richard Sperazzo; great-grandfather of Joseph and Bianca Sperazzo; dear brother of Pat Merola and his wife, Dolores of the North End and Carmela Swafford of Peabody.  He is also survived by his dear friend Claire Capozzi of East Boston as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
