Two young unidentified people, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, delayed the monthly Boston Police Public Safety meeting by about forty minutes until police resolved the problem.
First they were spotted on a bench in the Polcari Playground acting strangely and a local resident waiting for her children to return from summer day camp called the police.
Before police arrived the man found his way into the Nazzaro Community Center and collapsed on the reception area floor. He was helped outside of the building and once again collapsed on the building stairs.
Police arrived and questioned the two people who were not from the North End. The male was transported to the Mass General Hospital by ambulance followed by a police cruiser. The female reportedly walked to the hospital.
Residents told police the man and woman were frequently seen in the community.
