Father Emery Parillo OFM

Father Emery Parillo, OFM died on February 16. He was 82 years old.
Born in Boston to the late Jennie (Verderico) and Dominic Parillo on June 20, 1929 as Dominic Parillo, he entered the Franciscan Province of the Immaculate Conception on July 14, 1947. He made his first profession on July 15, 1948 and was admitted to solemn vows on July 15, 1951. He was ordained a Franciscan Priest on June 19, 1955.
Fr. Emery spent his entire priestly life in parish ministry. He served at Our Lady Help of Christians, Pittsburgh, PA; Saint Anthony of Padua, New York City; Saint Francis of Assisi, Cambridge, MA; Most Precious Blood, New York City and for over 25 years at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Watervliet, NY. Upon his retirement, Fr. Emery returned to his hometown of Boston to the Saint Christopher Friary.
He is survived by his brothers Michael and Joseph “Chuck†Parillo. He was the brother of the late Anthony Parillo, Mary Puccino and Theresa Paglierani. Father Emery is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
A visitation was held in Saint Leonard Church in Boston’s North End and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Leonard Church followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Arrangements were under the care of Rapino Memorial Home, East Boston.
