Thomas Malvarosa, Sr.

Of Dorchester, formerly of the North End

Thomas M. Malvarosa, Sr. of Dorchester, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on November 2.

A Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department employee for more than 13 years, he was the beloved husband of Thomas M. Malvarosa, Jr. of Dracut, Nancy A. and her husband, John Hodge of New Hampshire, Anthony J. Malvarosa of Dracut and Raymond M. and his wife, Jessica Dunner of Dorchester; brother of Nancy Cristamo of New Hampshire, Stanley Malvarosa of Woburn, Anthony Malvarosa of Boston and Tomasina Esposito of Medford; devoted grandfather of Tiffany Malvarosa, J.T., Elizabeth and Anthony Hodge and Thomas Malvarosa; son in law of Mary Waldron of Dorchester. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sylvia DeSimone

Of Braintree, formerly of the North End

Sylvia C. (Moschella) DeSimone of Braintree, formerly of the North End, died peacefully at home on December 4. She was 92 years old.

She was born in Boston, grew up in the North End where she lived until she married and moved to Braintree 56 years ago.

The beloved wife of the late Vincent A. DeSimone, Sr., she was the loving mother of Vincent A. DeSimone, Jr. of Braintree, Debra A. Luna of Framingham, Michele M. Dunford of Limerick, Ireland and the late Theodore S. DeSimone; devoted sister of Olga Zannelli and Evelyn Capodilupo, both of Braintree and the late “Helen” Palladino and Rose Cataldo. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Of Medford, formerly of the North End of Boston

Maria G. (Giangregorio) Serra of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on December 5.

She was the beloved wife of the late Dominic C. Serra; devoted mother of Donna Serra-Moore and her husband, Harold of Medford, Gina Serra of Medford and John Serra and his wife Maria, of Everett; loving grandmother of Sofia and Stella Serra; loving step-grandmother of Jennifer Milliner, Victor Moore, Daniel Murphy, Kristine Deitsch, David Deitsch and Brian Moore and loving step-great-grandmother of Devony, Kristen, AJ, Lexi, Jarrod, Kayla, Lilly and Hayley.

Antoinette Vendetti

Of Revere, formerly of the North End

Antoinette (Lupo) Vendetti of Revere, formerly of Everett, Somerville and Boston’s North End, died unexpectedly at her “Friendly Gardens” home in Revere on December 3. She was 88 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she lived in the North End, Everett and Somerville before moving to Revere 26 years ago.

She was the wife of the late John G. Vendetti who died in June of 1997; cherished mother of Janette M. Roselando and her husband, Samuel of Medford, and John Vendetti and his wife, Judith M. of Winthrop; devoted grandmother of Amy S. Vendetti of Winthrop, Lisa M. Vendetti of Somerville, Adam S. Roselando of Medford, and Daniel J. Roselando and wife, Kimberlee of Belmont. She is also lovingly survived by two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Millie Russo, Sadie Foti, Carmen and John DeLuca, Samuel, Jerry, David, and Vincent Lupo.

John Lynch

Charlestown Resident

John J. Lynch of Charlestown died on December 2.

He was the beloved son of the late Joseph J. and Bridget “Bridie” (Marshall) Lynch; devoted brother of James J. Lynch and his wife, Susan of Charlestown and loving uncle of John and Ryan Lynch, both of Charlestown.

Joseph Comperchio

Joseph C. Comperchio died at the South Shore Hospital on November 30. He was 68 years old.

He was raised in the North End of Boston and has lived in Weymouth since 1976. A shipfitter at the former General Dynamics, he enjoyed fishing, needlepoint, building model planes, model cars and miniature pianos.

He was the son of the late Sterlino and Marianna Comperchio; beloved husband of Frances (Lashus) Comperchio; father of Joseph C. Comperchio, Jr. (Weymouth P.D.) and his wife, Deborah of Pembroke, Anthony S. Comperchio of Michigan and Roxanne M. Lepore and her husband, Rico of Florida; brother of the late Bernadette Colclough; brother-in-law of Thomas Colclough of Holbrook; grandfather of Kayla, Alyssa and Corey Comperchio and Gianna, Mirella and Vincent Lepore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary DiNosse

North End Resident

Mary DiNosse of Boston’s North End died on December 2. She was 85 years old.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Nicolas and Anna (Scipione) DiNosse and leaves her beloved daughter Mary Ann (DiNosse) Raia and her husband, Frank, her cherished grandchildren, Lisa and Frank Jr., her brother, Vincent DiNosse, and many loving nieces and nephews.
