Rose Marie Logiudice

Former North End Resident

Rose Marie (Marciante) Logiudice of Reading, formerly of Cambridge and the North End of Boston, died on October 21. She was 83 years old.

She was the beloved wife of Vincent Logiudice; devoted mother of Angelo Logiudice of Cambridge, John Logiudice of Cambridge and Karyn Logiudice of Reading; cherished grandmother of Thomas Hall and great grandmother of Dominic Hall; dear sister of Nina Tenaglia of Chelmsford and the sister of seven late siblings. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Barile Family Funeral Home, Stoneham. Burial was at Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading. Josephine Hardin

Lifelong North End Resident

Josephine A. (Pizzano) Hardin, a lifelong resident of Boston’s North End, died on October 26. She was 85 years old.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Angelina (Bravacco) and Domenic Pizzano; cherished mother of Yolanda Hardin of Boston, Lillie Kunkel and her husband, Brad of Key Largo, Florida, and the late James Hardin; loving grandmother of Dannielle Wright of Atlanta, GA, Mark Hardin and his wife, Richelle of Dover, Jason Hardin and his companion, January Taylor of Malden, James Hardin of Boston, Shelly Oerman of York, PA, and the late Christopher Hardin; great grandmother of four. She was the caring sister of Camille Lucci of Medford and her late husband, Anthony, Phyllis Buccieri of Charlestown, Mary Sambucco and her husband, Frank of N. Andover and Yolanda Musto and her husband, Pat of Woburn. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.

Ciriaco ‘Jerry’ Serio

US Postal Service Retiree

Ciriaco A. “Jerry” Serio of  Everett died on October 21 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 85 years old.

Born in the North End of Boston and a longtime resident of Everett, he was a clerk working for the U.S. Postal Service.

He was the beloved husband of Cecelia (Grande) Serio for over 63 years; dear and devoted father of Anthony Serio, EdD, and his wife Patricia, of Leverett, Carolyn  Lucci and her husband, Paul of N. Reading and Ann Marie Douglass  and her husband, Kirk of Everett; brother of Nicholas Serio of Watertown, Eva Masiello of Stoughton, Anita Masiello of Brockton, Rosemary Messina of Medford and the late Rita Teta; loving grandfather of Cara, Christopher and Lauren Serio, Christina and Paul Lucci and Peter and Stephanie Douglass.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions in his  memory to the Immaculate Conception Church “Building Fund”, 489 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149, would be sincerely appreciated.

Lena “Cologera” Assenza

Lifelong North End Resident

Lena M. “Cologera” Assenza, a lifelong resident of Boston’s North End, died on October 25.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Vincenza (Giusta) and Gaetano Assenzo; loving sister of Jennie Ruotolo of Chelsea and the late Anna Sinagra, Joseph and Jimmy Assenzo, Camille Renzulli and Mary Riley; cherished aunt of Anthony and Nancy Sinagra, Janice Polacco, Dennis Assenzo, Alfred and Frank Renzulli, Patricia Pastore, Michael and Arlene Riley, Anna Maria Forlizzi, Robert and Vincent Ruotolo, the late Louis Sinagra and James Riley and all their spouses.

She is also survived by many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and her devoted friends the “Golden Girls.”

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, North Square, Boston. Burial was at St. Michael Cemetery.

Hugo ‘Sticka’ Guarino

Formerly of the North End

Hugo “Sticka” Guarino of Tewksbury, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on October 20.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Reppucci) Guarino; beloved father of Dana Guarino of Malden; loving stepfather of Diane Tanso of Tewksbury and Debbie Gilardi of Everett; father of Nadine Doherty of Everett and the late Mark Giannino and is also survived by several loving step-grandchildren. He was the brother of Rudy “Hippo” Guarino of Las Vegas, Flora Wentz of Philadelphia and the late Eva Leiva.

Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden with arrangements by the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home of Wilmington.
