The North End has the enviable distinction of being Boston’s safest neighborhood.
And so it did not come as a surprise that statistics released by the Boston Police Department last week revealed that crime is down substantially this year as compared with the same period for last year.
Across the board, everything was down.
About the only law type measure that went up was parking tickets.
Four-hundred and forty eight parking citations were issued. An additional 143 motor vehicle violations were also issued.
In all, the North End retained its most safe ward in the city status with this last round of statistics.
It doesn’t get better than that.
