Frank Cirignano

Owned former Cozy Corner Restaurant

in the North End

Frank J. Cirignano of the North End of Boston, died June 30 in the Spaulding Nursing Center, Boston. He was 89 years old.

Born in Italy, he lived most of his life in the North End. He was the proprietor of the Cozy Corner Restaurant in the North End of Boston for 25 years until he retired in 1987.

He was the cherished son of the late Louise (DeMinico) and Carlo Cirignano; fiancé of Joanne Fabiano of Boston; brother of Aurora “Roy” Tarantino and Iris “Lala” Solimine, both of Wakefield, Angelina “Angie” Bono of Burlington, and the late Joseph “Peppe” Cirignano; father of Marie Russell of New Hampshire. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent in his name to the Spaulding Nursing &Therapy Center, 70 Fulton ST., Boston, MA 02109

Giuseppe Fabrizio

Chelsea resident

Giuseppe Fabrizio of Chelsea passed away suddenly on June 26 while visiting his native home in Montefalcione, Italy.

Funeral Services and entombment were in his family mausoleum in Montefalcione, Italy on June 28 and a Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony Church,  Everett on July 5.

Jennie DiStefano

North End resident

Jennie DiStefano of Boston’s North End died on July 1. She was 94 years old.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Ignacio and Emannuella (Inderato) Bartolucci; cherished wife of the late Salvatore DiStefano; loving mother of Frank DiStefano and his wife, Frances “Cookie,” of Revere, Leonora “Dolly” Manfredonia and her late husband, Joseph of Revere; cherished grandmother of Frank DiStefano, Nadine Peroni, Jodi Fleming, Anthony Manfredonia and the late Steven Manfredonia; great grandmother of seven; loving sister of the late Nick Bartolucci, Mary Colontonia, Carmela Deluca, and Josephine Hudson and is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral arrangements were by the Boston Harborside Home, Boston. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.

George Lerra Sr.

Former Grand Knight Ausonia Council

George J. Lerra, Sr. of Boston’s West End, formerly of the North End, died on June 30. He was 78 years old.

He was a former Grand Knight (4th Degree) of The Ausonia Council and a Suffolk University Alumni. He was also a member of the Middlesex County Sherriff’s Association.

The beloved son of the late Marco and Rosina (Ciaccia) Lerra, he was the loving husband of Gloria (Lopez) Lerra; cherished father of George Lerra Jr. and his wife, Linda, Marco Lerra and his wife, Sumiko, and Marria Lerra-Vittimberga and her husband, Frank Vittimberga, MD; loving grandfather of Mia F. Vittimberga; beloved brother of Frank “Duke” Deluca and Marco Lerra and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral arrangements were by the Boston Harborside Home, Boston. Burial was at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
